This template can be used in a variety of ways to support talk in the classroom.
Talk partners
Record students’ names on the speech bubbles, laminate them and attach a magnet to the back. Talk partners can then easily be displayed and changed.
If students are away, names can be removed to make new pairs/threes. The teacher can also make triads or groups of four.
Talk partners that change regularly, provide regular opportunities for mixed-ability learning in the classroom.
Recording talk topics
Students or the teacher can generate questions, wonderings or statements on different topics. These can be recorded on the speech bubbles and used for pair, group and class discussions.
