Using a video to motivate students for writing
Focus: to develop word consciousness, write a factual description, develop note-taking skills or write a report
In 2017, we visited Thornhill Primary School in Islington, London. During our visit, we saw Ikram Mohamed doing a great variation of Label it (page 114, The Writing Book) with his Year 2 class.
Mohamed used the 'Wild Thing' as inspiration for the activity. His students were asked to label the nouns, then add adjectives in green. Their challenge was to add two adjectives to each noun.
