Using simple props to support oral language development
Focus: retelling known stories
Making a class quilt is a fun activity that develops class community
and provides many opportunities for oral language and writing. Take
time for students to share the parts of their quilt before the quilt is
displayed. Students could choose one idea to write about in more
detail. For example, their cultural heritage or an interest or hobby.
There are other publishing ideas in The Writing Book, pages 208-212.
