Are you unsure how to get the most out of group reading instruction using decodable texts?
Then this workshop is for you!

Join Louise to learn more about:

  • how to support students to apply decoding skills, develop vocabulary and comprehend texts
  • effective teaching strategies to use during group instruction to ensure students are engaged, practising skills and enjoying reading
  • how to use the gradual release of responsibility (I do, we do, you do) to model important skills and provide students with opportunities to practise reading
  • manageable ways to plan and formatively assess group reading.

More information and a code to join this workshop will be emailed to attendees closer to the time.

"Great combination of presentation techniques with written slides, speaking, visuals and video clips showing the process in action. Clear and useful notes provided with links to the website. Easy to follow system for new teachers to follow. Thanks so much. I have been using your resources for years and it was reassuring to see I only need to make a few tweaks".

"I loved that Louise talked about reading as a whole and that there are other aspects just as important as decoding, I think this has been lost recently. The importance of whole class teaching and shared reading is vital and Louise highlighted this. The resources and videos of lessons were great, I have so many things to try.  Thanks so much for a great learning experience!"

"Well-paced workshop that covered everything in the overview. Good videos and explanations. I would recommend this workshop — it was very informative and relevant".
